Norton proposes break for the drilling industry

THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 2003 Secretary of Interior Gale Norton proposed waiving royalty payments for the drilling industry. Norton said the proposal is meant to stimulate natural gas exploration. Drilling companies would not have to pay federal royalties for drilling deep into existing wells in the Gulf of Mexico. Get the Story:
