A Brave Soldier
Hi, I just wanted to write you a little note saying that I think Lori was very brave in losing her life, and I feel horrible knowing her daughter and son won't be able to spend time with her in the future. I have a brother in the ARMY as well, but I am lucky enough to know he's in Germany away from Iraq. As soon as the reports came out she was missing in action my heart fell, I too am 23 years old, and can't imagine being separated from my daughter....I hope that the kids, and family stays strong, knowing she went to help the US. I can't express how sorry I am for you, the family, and I hope this whole thing comes to an end quick. I live in Phoenix, otherwise I would join in the mourning of Lori by bringing flowers to your home, but I do know that you need space, and time so God Bless, and god is with you, so is Lori, but she is above us now looking down making sure we are okay :0)

She will be missed
May God bless Lori and the entire family of the Piestewa. I send this email with my deepest condolences to the family of Lori. I have family who live in Tuba City who first made me aware of the loss of this brave, courageous, and strong young native american warrior named Lori Piestewa. I live in Los Angeles, California and I am proud to be a Native American woman and to know that I come from the same root lines as Lori. She sent herself out to fight for you and I so that we can live in this beautiful country we call U.S.A. the land of freedom and choice. God bless her and all of you out on the Hopi reservation. She has truly earned her eternal gold medal where she is in heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ. She will be truly be missed.

Love and care,

To the Spirit World
Dear Piestewa Family,

It is with great saddness. Now Pfc. Lori has passed on to the Spirit World. I was very sad to hear about the news. I prayed for her to our Great Spirit (Tunkasila), because she was a great Lady Warrior who gave her life for our Nation. The Sioux Nation of South Dakota is very proud of this fallen Warrior. She will never be forgotten, she will always be in our hearts. She has showed us that bravery in Iraq. My condoelences to her Mom and Dad, Lori's children and siblings.I will remember them in my prayers. There are difficult time to come. Pray and Be Strong. Mitakuye Oyasin.
