Fort Peck Reservation: Keno is a Class III game and is illegal on the Fort Peck Reservation, tribal regulators have determined. Violators face prosecution.

Montana State University American Indian Club Powwow (April 18-19): Chickasaw Nation astronaut John Herrington will appear at the MSU's 28th annual pow-wow. Host drum is Fort Belknap's White Clay. Arena director is Jonathon Windy Boy, a member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe and one of seven Indian lawmakers in the state.

Flathead Reservation: The Ronan School District can't rehire seven teachers because impact aid, based on the number of Indian students who live on the reservation, has been reduced. Enrollment has also dropped.
