A confidential out-of-court settlement has been reached in the wrongful death suit of a Lakota man who died under suspicious circumstances.

Robert Many Horses, 22, was found stuffed inside a garbage can in a town near the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. Three youths who were last with him were named in the suit, which sought $1 million.

An attorney for Many Horses' foster mother said the settlement will require the youths to meet face to face with the foster mother. No other details were made public.
