Energy bill will streamline Indian development

The chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee says Indian tribes will be able to streamline development of their lands under a new bill.

Sen. Pete Domenici (R-N.M.), who also sits in the Indian Affairs Committee, has been working on national energy policy legislation. It includes an Indian energy section, which was drafted in conjunction with the Indian panel.
