Less than 20 years ago, Aboriginal art wasn't taken seriously in Australia. But today, Aboriginal artists are in high demand.

Although the materials used now differ, modern Aboriginal art can be traced back 30,000 years. Artists often depict sacred sites, ancestral lands and Aboriginal history.

Sotheby's is holding an Aboriginal art auction in July that is expected to bring in more than $3 million.
