The federal judge overseeing the Indian trust fund said on Tuesday he is considering placing the system in receivership.

U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth made his comments during the ongoing trial. He said a receiver may be the only way to ensure the Department of Interior is carrying out trust reform and is telling the truth.

Paul Homan, a former special trustee, testified that he supported a receiver.
