N.M. school hosts Navajo family conference

THURSDAY, MAY 15, 2003 The Dine Family Institute held last Friday and Saturday at the TseBitAi Middle School in Shiprock, New Mexico. Pauline and Ezekiel Sanchez, of Arizona, were featured speakers. The Sanchezes are the 2003 Family of the Year. Pauline, a member of the Navajo Nation, and Ezekiel, a Totonac from Mexico, described some of the struggles they endured and shared their successes. Navajo Nation Vice President Frank Dayish Jr. and his wife Virginia also spoke about the importance of family involvement in education. Get the Story:
