The state of New Mexico has asked a utility company to submit additional information about its plans to build a mine near a sacred lake.

Zuni Pueblo believes Salt River Project has failed to address air quality issues. The tribe opposes the coal mine, saying it will damage the sacred Zuni Salt Lake.

New Mexico's Environment Department will probably hold a hearing to address the air issues.
