A $13 million pipeline being constructed on the Blackfeet Reservation will serve tribal and rural residents.

When completed, the pipeline will bring clean water from Lower Two Medicine Lake to more than 6,000 residents. Tribal leaders say it will help spur economic development and create jobs.

The lack of a pipeline also poses health risks. A new kidney dialysis center and a new nursing home are on hold without a clean water source.

Funding came from tribal, federal and state sources.
