Diabetes center near Navajo Reservation closing

THURSDAY, MAY 22, 2003 A diabetes prevention center in Gallup, New Mexico, has been shut down, former Navajo Nation Vice President Dr. Taylor McKenzie said. The center was receiving federal funds through the University of New Mexico. But McKenzie said the university failed to carry out Congress' mandates and won't get any new money. Get the Story:
