MONDAY, JUNE 2, 2003 Pojoaque Pueblo in New Mexico is starting a pilot project to get rid of some of the manure at a racetrack it owns. The tribe is going to transport 1,000 tons to a cement plant, where it will be used for a mine reclamation project. If successful, the pilot could be expanded. An estimated 200,000 cubic yards of manure are leftover at the racetrack. The tribe has been told to clean up the mess before trying to turn the site into a concert and entertainment venue.
