Native students' test scores improve in Wash.

Native American students in Washington showed a 7 percentage point gain on national reading and math tests.

The increase was the largest for all racial and ethnic groups, according to the state. Native students, however, still lag behind white students on the reading test.

The tests are administered to third- and sixth-grade students.
