Ariz. tribe spends $5M on diabetes research

TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2003 The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Tribe of Arizona signed an agreement to provide $5 million for diabetes research. The Translational Genomics Research Institute will spend five years studying how the disease has affective Native Americans. Researchers will compare people who are most severely affected by diabetes with those who have fewer complications. Get the Story:
