Calif. tribe accused of harassing employees

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4, 2003 Two California lawmakers and a union-sponsored organization are accusing the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians of harassing pro-union workers. The Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees is trying to organize employees at the tribe's casinos. It claims employees are not paid well and commissioned a study from the University of California at Los Angeles to prove it. The tribe is defending employee wages and commissioned its own study that disputes the UCLA one. Chairman Richard Milanovich also says the union is spreading misinformation. Get the Story:
