Tribe turns garden into community project

THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 2003 The United Keetowah Band of Oklahoma is hoping a community garden will help the tribe establish a land base. The 2.63-acre garden is run by Go Back Sanders and located behind the tribe's headquarters. UKB Attorney General Dianne Barker-Harrold said the project is just one of several that will bring the tribe together. The Keetowah Band is linked to the Cherokee Nation but has separate federal recognition. Get the Story:
