A bill to settle the water rights of the Zuni Tribe of New Mexico was killed on the House floor.

The bill was part of a larger package that Democrats targeted for defeat as part of a protest against tax cuts they say will only benefit the wealthy. The tribe and its supporters hope it can be considered again.
