Tribes awarded $8.2M for Internet access

The U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded $20 million in broadband Internet access grants, with $8.2 million going to tribes.

The Coeur d´Alene Tribe will use $2.7 million to bring wireless service to the reservation and to build a technology center. Other tribes awarded grants include the Port Gamble S´Klallam Tribe of Washington; the Tlingit and Haida Tribe of Alaska; the Navajo Nation; the San Carlos Apache Tribe of Arizona and the Warm Springs Tribes of Oregon.
