Indiana Governor Frank O'Bannon will issue an executive order this week to create the state's first American Indian commission.

The 20-member commission will address archaeological and work-force issues. It replaces the state's Native American Council.

O'Bannon he vetoed legislation that would have created a commission because he said it would have excluded the state's Miami Nation, which is not federally recognized.
