Law enforcement officials in Texas are furious that a 9-year-old girl from the Kickapoo Tribe was buried ceremoniously in Mexico without an autopsy or further investigation.

A justice of the peace allowed the girl's family to take her from a hospital where she had been brought. According to law enforcement, she could have been the victim of sexual assault.

A tribal spokesperson said there was no indication of foul play. A Texas ranger ridiculed the suggestion from tribal police that she died from choking on a Cheeto.
