Ore. tribe rounds up last of wayward bison herd

THURSDAY, JULY 3, 2003 The Confederated Umatilla Tribes of Oregon have rounded up a bison herd that was set loose on the reservation. Tribal officials used a elk trap and an old buffalo hide to capture the 32 animals. The tribe is trying to decide what to do with the herd. The herd was released by a rancher who was allegedly violating tribal environmental law. The rancher has since disappeared. Get the Story:
