NMAI graces DC Mall with 'feminine' architecture

MONDAY, JULY 7, 2003 Slated to open September 2004, the National Museum of American Indian will be the only building with "feminine architecture" on the National Mall, the museum's facility planner says. Duane Blue Spruce, from Laguna Pueblo, tells The Great Falls Tribune that other buildings have "stodgy masculine facades." He also says its placement on the mall is ""is a great symbol of reconciliation of this country to its native people." Construction is about halfway complete. Get the Story:
