Morongo leader launches campaign for state office

FRIDAY, JULY 11, 2003 Mary Ann Martin Andreas, former chairwoman of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and current council member, is running for the California Assembly. Andreas, a Democrat, is well-known in state and national tribal circles. If elected, it is believed she will be the first California Native American to hold state office. Get the Story:
