The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals held a hearing on Thursday to consider the sentence of a former Bureau of Indian Affairs employee who was convicted for killing four people in a drunk driving accident.

Lloyd Larson was sentenced to 80 years for pleading guilty to four counts of second-degree murder. His attorney says the judge failed to give notice that he was going to punish Larson beyond the normal guidelines.

A BIA car Larson was driving collided head-on with another vehicle January 25, killing all four passengers.
