Navajo man sentenced to life for murdering children

A federal judge sentenced a Navajo Nation man to life in prison for murdering his two young children.

Anderson Black was given the mandatory sentence under federal law. He admitted killing Dakota Ironhawk Black, 3, and Nicole Gentlehawk Black, who was about to turn 2, in September 2000 but claimed it was not premeditated.

Black's blood-alcohol level after the incident was 0.184.
