A food bank that provided free food to low-income families is shutting down after it required Indians to provide extra documentation, The Daily Oklahoma reports.

The First Christian Church was operating using food from the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and from local donations. But the Regional Food Bank has stopped supplying food because the church was asking tribal members to provide a statement that they weren't receiving commodities from another source.

The USDA says Indians can receive commodities yes still qualify for other forms of aid.
