Navajo Nation imposes fire ban on reservation

WEDNESDAY, JULY 16, 2003 The Navajo Nation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs reimposed a ban on fires on the tri-state Navajo Reservation. Anyone caught in violation of the ban faces fines and restitution, a tribal resolution states. The BIA isn't allowed to issue any burn permits for any purpose. Get the Story:
