Fire on Apache reservation in Ariz. grows

THURSDAY, JULY 17, 2003 The Kinishba Fire on the Fort Apache Reservation in Arizona has grown to 17,700 acres just as crews were pulled off the expanding blaze. The combination of drought-like conditions has made fire fighting difficult, experts told The Arizona Republic. Thousands of White Mountain Apache tribal members have already been evacuated.
