The University Press Books Committee has rated "Medicine Trail: The Life and Lessons of Gladys Tantaquidgeon," one of the the best offerings of the year.

Authored by Melissa Jayne Fawcett, the Mohegan Tribe's historian, and published by the University of Arizona Press, the book tells the story of Gladys Tantaquidgeon. Tantaquidgeon is a 102-year old elder and a descendant of Mohegan chief Uncas.

The Tantaquidgeon family owns and operates the oldest Indian museum in the country.
