JUNE 1, 2001 If you're an aspiring Native actor, comedian, or writer, you might want to take note because the Oneida Nation and NBC want you. Concerned with dismal representation of Natives in the entertainment industry, the New York tribe and the network famous for such ethnically diverse programs as "Friends," "Frasier," "Will & Grace," and every just about every other must-see announced on Thursday they have teamed up to search for talented Native Americans to join the ranks. For those Indians without a SAG card or representation, "The Four Directions Talent Search" will give them a chance to audition their skills. First round will be held at various locations throughout the country including Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecicut and The Comedy Underground in Seattle, Washington. (Will Sherman Alexie show up?) Eventually, there'll be a final round at NBC studios in New York City. Get the Story:
