THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2001 The boyhood home of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix faces being destroyed unless someone pays to have it moved from its current location in Seattle, Washington. The house's owner wants to use the site for a condo. But Michael Hilow would rather see someone buy the home and move it rather than destroy it. So he put it up for auction on eBay and someone wanted to buy it for $43,500. But after September 11's terrorist attacks, the bid was withdrawn. Hilow says it would cost about $30,000 to have the house moved. Hendrix, whose mother was Cherokee, was inducted into the NAMMY Hall of Fame in 1998. More information about the home can be found on eBay at http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?
