Kan. school rejects mascot change

The Manhattan Board of Education voted 4-3 Wednesday night to keep its "Indian" mascot.

The board, however, said it will institute guidelines on how the mascot can be portrayed. The mascot was chosen more than 60 years ago, purportedly to honor a football coach who said he was Indian.
