Falling enrollment questioned

Enrollment of American Indian students at Montana State University has been slowly declining since 1997 and President Geoffrey Gamble wants to know why.

School officials and faculty are now trying to increase enrollment but Wayne Stein, director of Native American studies, says their efforts will take time before any effect is seen. Stein also says Indian students now have more options for higher education, drawing them away from local colleges.
