For the past two years, tribal elders have been working with the Little Big Horn Tribal College on a project to document Crow names for geographical locations.

The Crow Place Name Project has documented more than 500 names for locales in Crow territory in Montana and elsewhere. They names describe events, actions, and history of the Crow people.
