Children adults learn Oneida language

FEBRUARY 16, 2001 Children and adults alike are learning the Oneida language thanks to the New York tribe's language education program. Robert Doxtator is the director of the 6-year-old program and is Oneida from Canada. At age 59, he is one of the youngest in the last generation of fluent Oneida speakers. More Oneida in Canada speak the language than their relatives in New York. Get the Story:
