MARCH 23, 2001 The Kansas Support Group of the American Indian Movement is protesting the use of Indians as mascots by the Cochise College Apaches or Arizona, the Wabash Valley Warriors Illinois, and the Indian Hills Warriors Iowa. The group put fliers on cars objecting to the teams. If any make it to the final eight, they will hold a protest on Saturday. All are junior colleges participating in the National Junior College basketball tournament in Hutchinson this week. Get the Story:
