MARCH 29, 2001 A documentary about the life and times of Duwamish / Suquwamish Chief Seattle airs on Seattle Public Television tonight. Seattle Times columnist Erik Lacitis writes about the famous man in today's paper. He briefly discusses whether or not Seattle's infamous speech about protecting the environmment was true and says it was probably the interpretation of one of Seattle's white friends who later published the speech. Chief Seattle died in 1866. Get the Story:
