APRIL 2, 2001

Archeaologists have uncovered artifacts at a 1,000-year-old site in Tempe, Arizona, they can't seem to figure out.

The artifacts are called guanacos because Frank Cushing, a turn of the century anthropologist/archaeologist, thought they depicedt the South American llama when he found them. Archaeologists today think they migh represent a dog or a deer.

So far, the archaeologists at the site have uncovered 21 guanacos.
