APRIL 27, 2001 University of Utah researchers are studying a collection of 250 moccasins found in a cave north of Great Salt Lake in the 1930s. The researchers are puzzled as to why so many shoes would be found in one place. They also marvel at the various conditions of the shoes: while some are tattered, others look brand new. The shoes come in various styles and are made out of various animals: bison, deer, antelope and even bear. They date to between 500 and 1,000 years ago. Get the Story:
