Five superintendents at schools in South Dakota attended a meeting set up by the Minority Resource Center in Watertown to discuss the use of American Indians in mascots and school performances.

Organizer Betty Ann Gross said she wants Watertown to change its "Ki Yi" homecoming legend by August 4. The legend is an invented story about two fake tribes but superintendent Rick Melmer said he has heard conflicting views about its offensiveness.
