New center opening at Indian museum

JUNE 11, 2001 Elementary students from Tesuque Pueblo in New Mexico last week got a preview of a new exhibit that will open later this month at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe. Called the Discovery Center, it is an interactive exhibit designed to give visitors a hand-on approach to learning about Native culture. It features a miniature Indian village, a rock-art wall, and a mythical archaeologist named "Indiana Begay." The new exhibit, which will open June 30, is part of a larger expansion at the museum, designed to draw more visitors. Get the Story:
