JUNE 8, 2000 A public school district serving many students from the Pueblos of San Juan and Santa Clara in Northern New Mexico has been placed on "warned approval" due to numerous health and safety problems. Violations at the Española Middle School and the Española Valley High School are among many for the Española school district, the only one out of 30 in the entire state to receive the lowest accreditation. The school district has until July 31 to correct the problems or face a potential closure. The school year starts August 23. Get the Story:
