The discovery of human remains up to 2,500 years old has prompted a developer to withdraw plans for a high-rise in Miami, Florida.

An archaeologist has uncovered at least 12 people, dating from 500 B.C. to 500 A.D. There could be between 50 and 100 more humans.

The Seminole Tribe's historic preservation officer praised the decision to stop development.
