A reproduction of a kiva at an historic Tiwa Pueblo in New Mexico is crumbling and needs to be repaired, says the manager of the Coronado State Monument.

The Painted Kiva at the Pueblo of Kuau'a was first reconstructed in 1940. The original murals have been preserved.

It will cost $80,00 to rebuild the kiva, said manager Angie Manning. An additional $100,000 would be need to stablize the structure.

The village dates to the 1300s.
