With the same technology that located historic Pueblo trade and transportation routes, NASA is using high-resolution satellite images to locate possible camp sites of the Lewis and Clark expedition.

NASA is working with the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center in Dulles, Oregon, on the project. The project will continue until at least 2004, which marks the bicentennial of the start of the Lewis and Clark journey.

A number of tribes are taking part in the planning for the bicentennial and holding their own events to make sure the Native viewpoint is told.
