Umatilla man honored for language work

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2001 A member of the Confederated Umatilla Tribes of Oregon has been honored for his work to preserve the language of the Sahaptian-speaking people. Phillip Cash Cash was given the 2001 Buffett Award for Indigenous Leadership in Conservation. The award honors contributions for conservation and community. Get the Story:
