About 60 buffalo heifers are being prepared for auction by Fort Robinson State Park in Nebraska.

The yearly auction takes place November 4. Each heifer is expected to bring in about $300 each, although older buffalo are also being auctioned.

The herd's population is about 500, considered an optimal size.
