Tribe cautious about eagle plan

OCTOBER 31, 2000 Eugene Kaye, a spokesman for the Hopi Tribe of Arizona, said the tribe is cautious about the draft plan to allow members to collect golden eaglets in Wupatki National Monument. The Department of Interior plans to issue rules allwoing the tribe to gather eagles in the monument. Ths rules would exempt particular clan members from the ban on taking wildlife in national parks.
