The tribes on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming have begun a three-year, $2.3 million project to restore forested areas in the Owl Creek Mountains.

About 140,000 acres in the forest were damaged in a fire last year, the third largest single first in the country. To restore the damaged areas, the tribes have hired a local company to plant hundreds of thousands of trees.
