Tribe seeks UN conference

JANUARY 16, 2001 The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the the International Education Resource Network of New York are hoping bring a United Nations environmental conference for children to southeastern Connecticut. The United Nations Environment Program is touring the area in weeks in preparation of choosing a location for the July 2002 event. It would be housed at various locations in the area. The tribe would also host a powwow during the conference. Get the Story:
